My interest in Graphics stemmed initially from my visit to the Moma gallery (New York) in 2006. I was particularly drawn to the fresh perspectives taken by Dada artists Sophie Taeuber and Raoul Hausmann. I thought the art was exciting but more crucially I felt engaged with the ideas behind the images. Through experiencing those pieces of work I then took an interest in many kinds of abstract and thought provoking art including pieces by Eduardo Recife who followed the Dada work. I enjoy working independently as I have a wild imagination and constant thirst for new ideas, but I also like to work as part of a team when participating towards a common goal. I feel that I am a good communicator and I mix well with others. I enjoy working within a group when creating graphic work, and I feel confident when contributing to the development process. I enjoy using humour in my work in order to make it both light hearted yet thought provoking. I strongly believe that being able to laugh and enjoy other people's company is a key part of my life. I love to continually grow and learn in graphics, I feel it gives me a chance to open my mind, explore ideas and most importantly bring out my creativity through my work I am committed to pursuing a career in Graphic Design/Communications and see a degree course as the first step along the way. I am a conscientious and diligent student and I realise that a lot of hard work is required to succeed in what is a very competitive market but I am driven to be successful and determined to do my very best whilst at University. The pieces that I have included for this online portfolio are all pieces that I am proud of and that I feel show my potential for the subject. In the work I have produced, I have tried to show versatility and to show all my skills ranging from illustration to textiles. Using different contextual links within my work also to show that I can produce all kinds of pieces including computer work and hand rendered pieces of work.
